The 2021-2022 school year is upon us, and students are gearing up to get back to school, both in person and online. Back-to-school can be a hectic time for everyone. Students are adjusting to new grades, new routines, and many are learning online for the first time. At Christian Virtual School, we want to offer our students as much support as possible when embarking on a new school year.
Here at Christian Virtual School, our courses are student led, self-paced, and entirely online. Students have 12 months from the date of enrollment, and they can set their own schedules when working on their courses.
Here are a few tips when preparing for online learning this year:
Create a Designated Workstation
Set up a designated area within your home where you can work comfortably. Your workstation could include a desk, your device, a comfortable chair, pens, paper, a set of headphones, etc. Make your space inviting and a place you enjoy going to each day!
Establish a Routine
We all know the importance of getting a good night sleep. Aim to get to bed earlier and wake up at the same time each day. Try to complete your schoolwork and have breaks at the same time each day to establish a routine. Of course, you can be flexible with this when needed, but establishing a routine is a great way to start the year off right.
Create a Schedule
Yes, your courses are self-paced, but sometimes a schedule is helpful to keep us all on track. Take a look at the assignments and assessments in your course and create a plan for what you will work on for the first few weeks of school. Setting small, attainable goals will help keep you motivated and on track!

Prayer is an integral part of our daily lives and is especially important during challenging times. Focus your prayer on asking God for guidance and support as you navigate this new opportunity. Whether you are feeling excited and can’t wait to dive in, or nervous and apprehensive – God is there to walk with you, every step of the way.
