The past few weeks have been a flurry of writing and development! We’ve got another course launch to announce and are thrilled to let you know GLC2O – Career Studies is now available for students. Our Principal and Head of Guidance, Jenna Drennan, worked diligently to produce a wonderfully written course. Our super talented Mark Hindermeier will be teaching this course with us.
Course Outline
This course supports students through their education and career/life planning process. Students will develop an understanding of their own skills, habits, and interests, and examine goal setting and decision-making strategies. As students navigate their pathways to a post-secondary destination, they will make connections between their own transferable skills and opportunities available to them. Whether the student is entering the workforce or attending post-secondary education, they will benefit from personal finance management strategies and the opportunity to develop a budget. Throughout the course, students will reflect on their own connection to God and the importance of seeking His wisdom to guide them. Through the power of prayer and reflection, students are encouraged to lean upon God’s promises, and trust in His plans for them.

In this half-credit course, students will get the chance to learn about themselves and their interests, develop their transferable skills, build their resumé, and explore life after secondary school, all while reflecting on their connection to God and the importance of leaning on His guidance for their future.
