We’re so excited to introduce to you one of our newest teachers this school year, Mrs. Michelle Kaptein! She has joined us to teach Grade 7. She is also our elementary and secondary Bible Study teacher. Her focus in bible studies this school year is on building a community.
Michelle has had the opportunity to teach in a variety of areas over the last several years. Beginning her education at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, she spent three years as a student of Visual Arts. From there she moved to Germany to au pair for a family in Stuttgart as she taught the family English and was able to travel around Europe. On returning to Canada, Michelle continued her teacher education program at Redeemer University. Once finished her teaching degree, Michelle spent some time in Northern Ontario teaching in Geraldton and Longlac before beginning a full time position in Niagara with Great Lakes Christian High School.
As Michelle and her husband have grown their family, she has been able to supply teach in a variety of schools and learn from other teachers. Michelle and her husband have three small children who are now embarking on their own education journey! As Michelle continues to raise their children, she is so grateful for the opportunity to teach and connect with students from around the world. Teaching has been a passion of Michelle’s and she looks forward to learning and providing the support that her students need.
