Christian Virtual School is proud to participate in the Sunrise Challenge, which will be held from May 31 to June 6, 2021. This challenge raises money to support mental health research and suicide prevention initiatives through the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. We will rise together each morning around 5:48 am EST, to watch the sunrise and to raise awareness for mental health.
As we continue to navigate the global pandemic and what a challenge it has been, CAMH recognizes the need for mental health support. This organization created the Sunrise Challenge to raise awareness about the importance of both physical and mental health. CAMH aims to raise funds for those who have been affected by mental illness, for those who have lost their lives or a loved one to suicide, and to those who are currently struggling.
What is the Sunrise Challenge?
Each day during the week of May 31 to June 6, 2021 you are encouraged to take a picture of a sunrise, an alarm clock, or your breakfast – anything that shows people you completed the challenge that day by waking up early. The challenge also encourages participants to take time that day to do something positive for their mental health – that could be taking time to read a book, move your body, or meditate.
Join Us!
Join Christian Virtual School as we take on this challenge and share our own beautiful sunrise photos. You can participate by joining our team and donating here.
Another great way to participate is to follow us on social media ?? and send us your sunrise challenge photos! We will be happy to showcase these photos in the spirit of us all rising together to raise awareness in support of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
