Potential Writing Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation:
    • Develop engaging and informative content for various school platforms, including the website, newsletters, and social media.
    • Write articles, blog posts, and updates that reflect the school’s mission and values.
  2. Educational Materials:
    • Assist in creating and editing curriculum materials, lesson plans, and educational resources.
    • Ensure that all materials are accurate, up-to-date, and align with the school’s educational standards and Christian values.
  3. Communications:
    • Draft and edit communication materials such as emails, announcements, and reports.
    • Collaborate with the school staff to ensure consistency in messaging and tone across all communications.
  4. Promotion and Outreach:
    • Write promotional content to support school events, campaigns, and fundraising efforts.
    • Help in crafting compelling stories and testimonials to highlight the impact of the school on students and the community.
  5. Proofreading and Editing:
    • Review and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and adherence to style guidelines.
    • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the overall quality and effectiveness of written materials.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Familiarity with educational content and Christian values is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Potential Fundraising Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Campaign Development:
    • Assist in planning and organizing fundraising campaigns and events to support the school’s financial needs.
    • Brainstorm and implement creative fundraising ideas to engage the school community and attract donors.
  2. Donor Engagement:
    • Identify potential donors and build relationships with them through personalized communication and outreach.
    • Develop and maintain a database of donors, ensuring accurate records of contributions and interactions.
  3. Grant Writing:
    • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the school’s mission and goals.
    • Write and submit compelling grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
  4. Promotional Materials:
    • Create persuasive and informative promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content, to support fundraising efforts.
    • Ensure all materials effectively communicate the impact of donations and the importance of supporting the school.
  5. Event Coordination:
    • Help plan and execute fundraising events, such auctions and community gatherings.
    • Coordinate logistics, manage volunteer involvement, and ensure successful event outcomes.
  6. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Track and report on fundraising progress, providing regular updates to school leadership.
    • Analyze fundraising data to identify trends, measure success, and suggest improvements for future campaigns.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in fundraising, event planning, or grant writing is preferred.

Participate in or help organize community events that bring our school family together. These events foster a sense of unity and provide valuable opportunities for networking and support among parents, students, and staff.

Potential Community Events Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning and Organization:
    • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing various virtual and possibly in-person community events, including educational workshops, social gatherings, and religious celebrations.
    • Develop event themes, schedules, and activities that align with the school’s mission and values.
  2. Engagement and Interaction:
    • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at events, engaging with attendees and encouraging interaction and participation.
    • Gather feedback from participants to improve future events and better meet the needs of the community.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in event planning or community engagement is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Passion for supporting the school’s mission and fostering community spirit.

By taking on these responsibilities, community events volunteers play a vital role in building a strong, connected school community, providing valuable opportunities for engagement, learning, and fellowship.

Members of the Advisory Board serve as a critical community champion of Christian Virtual School. Members share their gifts in service to the mission and values of the school with their professional expertise; their diverse knowledge, backgrounds, and perspectives; their connections to resources, colleagues, or peers; and their passion for Christian educationAdvisory Board members are responsible for acting in the best long-term interests of Christian Virtual School, as well as the community, and will bring to their discussions a broad knowledge, a long-range view, and an openness to learning and collaborating with others. 

Requirements:

Requirements of Advisory Board membership include: 

  1. Commitment to the workmission, and values of the organization. 
  2. Abide by the bylaws, code of conduct, and other policies that apply to the board. 
  3. Attendance at monthly Advisory Board meetings. 
  4. Attendance at Annual General Meetings. 
  5. Support of special events. 

General Duties:

An Advisory Board member is fully informed on organizational matters and participates in discussions around matters of content direction, inclusivity, diversity, and cohesiveness. 

The Member must: 

  1. Develop an understanding of the business, market and industry trends 
  2. Provide ‘wise counsel’ on issues raised by the Executive Director, Principal, or other management 
  3. Provide unbiased insights and ideas from a third point-of-view  
  4. Encourage and support the exploration of new ideas 
  5. Act as a resource for the Board of DirectorsExecutive Director, and Principal 
  6. Provide social networking platform for the Board of DirectorsExecutive Director, and Principal 
  7. Monitor business performance for alignment to mission and values 
  8. Impose challenges to the Executive Director and Principal that could improve the business
