Christian Virtual School is feeling so blessed to add another new member to the Administrative Staff team. Join us in welcoming Sabrina as the new Department Head of Mathematics at Christian Virtual School! In this role, she will be go-to for all things Mathematics in Grades 4-12, from course content creation to teacher management to student engagement.
Sabrina earned her Bachelor’s of Arts from University of Michigan and her Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Marian University. Before joining CVS, Sabrina had the opportunity to teach math for a variety of schools and tutoring organizations. She taught grade 6 to 11 math at both brick and mortar and online schools in the States before coming to Canada. Those were formative years for Sabrina and helped her understand how to support students who struggle with math and how to challenge students who excel in math.
After getting married, she and her husband lived in Toronto for a few years. Sabrina worked for an organization that supported students with special needs through 1:1 tutoring and small group classes. Her students ranged from grade 4 to university! Working so closely with students who had learning exceptionalities gave Sabrina further insight into the process of learning and mastering mathematics.
Her many years of teaching experience, content expertise, and passion for helping students succeed inform Sabrina’s teaching practice every day. She is passionate about helping students who believe they can’t do math realize that, in fact, they can! She loves to make learning fun and is always striving to help students grasp concepts rather than memorize procedures.
Sabrina and her husband now live in Windsor, Ontario with their two young children. On the weekends, you can find Sabrina spending time with her family, reading a good book, or volunteering with the kids’ ministry at her local church.
